Blue Belt · Armbar Systems
An armbar from the bottom in the gi where the arm is not held by hands alone — the caption states the idea in its title, "ArmBar holding the arm with the lapel." Deivid plays guard on his back, uses a loose lapel to keep the partner's arm tied to him, then turns the angle and throws a leg over to finish the armbar.
Deivid is on his back with the partner kneeling in his guard, both in white gis. He works a lapel loose and holds the cloth in his hands in front of the partner's chest.
He brings the lapel around the partner's near arm and keeps hold of it, so the arm stays pinned to him while the partner tries to posture and pull back inside the guard.
Still holding the lapel grip, Deivid turns onto his side, opens the guard, and swings his top leg up and over the partner's head and shoulder, with the tied arm trapped across his hips.
He falls back with the arm extended between his legs and the lapel still doing the holding. The partner is left flat on his side with the arm straight, and the clip ends as Deivid lets go and sits back up.
