White Belt · Guard → Submissions
Deivid (blue gi, black belt, on his back) teaches the triangle from guard on a kneeling partner in a white gi: control both sleeves, climb one leg over the shoulder, trap one arm inside, lock the figure-four, and tighten until the partner is lifted by the lock before releasing.
Deivid lies on his back in front of the kneeling partner, holding the partner's sleeves/wrists with both hands, feet working at the partner's hips, talking through the setup.
Keeping hold of a sleeve, he climbs one leg high over the partner's shoulder and back, the other foot staying at the hip. He gestures with his free hand as he explains, holding this entry position for the camera.
The partner leans in and Deivid works his legs around the partner's neck with one of the partner's arms trapped inside, pulling that arm across while he re-angles his body on the mat. The camera circles the pair during this adjustment.
The legs cross and lock in the figure-four around the partner's neck and trapped arm. Deivid holds the locked triangle for an extended teaching pause and points directly at the partner's trapped arm/sleeve — the detail he is calling the class's attention to — while the lock stays on.
He adjusts the lock with a hand on his own leg, closes the figure-four fully, and applies the finish: the final frames of the squeeze show the partner raised up off his knees by the locked triangle, Deivid's hand at the partner's head as he holds it.
He opens the legs and lets the partner out, keeping a sleeve grip for a moment, and the clip ends with Deivid on the mat, one leg still raised, finishing his explanation.
