White Belt · First Principles
A complete close-up demo of tying a gi belt: the belt is seated around the hips over the closed jacket, the ends are wrapped and crossed at the front, looped into a knot, and pulled tight so the knot sits flat and centered.
Shot from the side and back: the black belt already circles the waist over the blue gi jacket, sitting at hip level. Both hands work behind the back, handling the two ends; the red-bar end of the belt is visible at the back.
The ends are brought around the body until the camera is facing the front: the belt lies flat around the waist over the closed jacket, with both ends hanging at the front, ready to cross.
At the front center, the ends are crossed over each other. One end is then fed under and through the loop at the center, both hands guiding it through close to the camera.
The end with the red bar is worked across and through once more to finish the knot. Both ends are then pulled out to the sides, and the final frame shows the result: a flat, tight knot centered at the front of the waist.
