Step Over from Mount — Roll to the Triangle and Arm Attacks (Gi)

Blue beltGi0:29Teaching demo

A captioned teaching demo: from mount, the instructor controls the partner's arm, steps over, pulls the partner's head up and sits on top, then puts a hand on the leg and rolls — locking a triangle on landing, with arm attacks (either arm) as the follow-on options. Step names below are the video's own on-screen captions.

The breakdown — piece by piece

STEP 1 · 0:00–0:02

Control the arm from mount

The instructor sits in mount on the partner (white gi, blue belt) and controls the partner's arm/sleeve with both hands. Captions: "CONTROL THE…" / "CONTROL."

STEP 2 · 0:03–0:04

Step over

He leans in and steps over toward the partner's head end, keeping the arm controlled. Caption: "STEP."

STEP 3 · 0:05–0:07

Pull the head up and sit on top

Seated beside/on top at the head end, he pulls the partner's head up and sits on top of it, the partner's arm still trapped. Captions build the sentence: "PULL" → "PULL THE HEAD UP AND" → "PULL THE HEAD UP AND SIT ON TOP OF…"

STEP 4 · 0:08–0:10

Only then reach for the triangle

Still talking to camera, he makes the point that the reach comes only after the head is up and he is seated. Caption: "ONLY THEN I CAN REACH ON MY TRIANGLE."

STEP 5 · 0:11–0:15

Hand on the leg, and roll

He reaches a hand down to the partner's leg (caption: "HAND ON THE LEG"), rolls backward with the trapped arm (caption: "I ROLL"), and his foot comes over as he goes (caption: "FOOT…").

STEP 6 · 0:16–0:19

Lock the triangle

On his back after the roll, he locks his legs in a triangle around the partner's head and trapped arm. Captions: "LOCK MY TRIANGLE" → "SAME EXACTLY LIKE HUGGING."

STEP 7 · 0:20–0:23

Push and hug to tighten

He shows the tightening options from the locked triangle — pushing and hugging the legs/partner in. Captions: "PUSHING" → "I CAN ALSO HUG" → "PUSH."

STEP 8 · 0:24–0:29

Attack the arm

From the triangle he shows the arm attacks: first the opposite arm (captions: "I CAN GO FOR THE OPPOSITE ARM" → "ATTACK THERE"), then re-gripping the near arm to attack it from the same position (captions: "I CAN GO FOR THIS ARM AND ATTACK HERE") as the clip ends.
